Listed below is our revision of the Acceptable Use Policy for KA to Grade 2 students. As we put this together we looked at other AUPs and used components from them. We ended up with a KA to Grade 2 policy that has a child, parent and teacher component. One of the goals of our new AUP was to create a one-page, easy to read document. The language is written for parents and students.

Future Plans: There are parts of this project that have already been carried out. Next year when we are working on our Pebbles, Sand and Silt Module I would like to follow the plan as stated above. One of the biggest differences is that I’d like to create and share this as an e-poster, instead of the paper brochure we created this year. The next time we teach this unit the students will save their work as a PDF and then upload the file to their blogs. The blogs allow for a much wider audience. Students will be able to comment on their peer’s work and parents will be able to leave comments for their children.
Extra Assistance: To carry out this project properly we will work with our Lower School IT Coordinator and their assistant. Help will be needed when students finish taking their photographs. Each student pair will need to have their photos downloaded and saved to their personal folder. For this lesson I didn’t feel it was necessary to teach the second graders this skill.
