Hi Julie
As my students are working on the citizenship unit currently, I may use it after they finish the project they are working on as a fun but informative end to the year. Ideally, I would like to use it […]

While the complexities of developing / revising an AUP were alluring as a final project for course two, creating a lesson about one the topics we studied in this course seemed to fit better with the needs of my […] -

Good stuff. For those other two (three?) classes to take (non conference or other online course) where / how do you take? Are they offered online or what…?
Anyone know?

Hi Brian! Your post just gave me a ‘D’Oh’ moment (in a good way). In my post I was really focused on the use of hyperlinks within blogging. In hindsight, I completely ignored (didn’t even think about) my […]

Thanks for starting this thread! I opted to pay higher course fees but have put off making decisions about pursuing Masters. A big thanks to my schools PD funding to give flexibility.

I just checked flicrk and the embed tool seems to be working ok. Follow these steps: 1) use comfight to find free images (under thin line) 2) double click on image to get to flickr 3) look for share button 4) click down arrow 5) on new window click on ”grab html/bbc code 6)select size 7)copy/paste code back into blog
In reply to - Patricia Moreno posted an update in the group Online Cohort 13-14 Hello Cohort 13-14, Just tried to insert a photo from compfight, but it seems there are only photos for sale. So then went to flikr to use a […] · View -

You know it’s bullying when Mom’s involved. Seriously…why are politicians going to the level of junior high school yard? I do like how some conservatives refuse to send out tax payer funded mail outs. At least […]

Hi Katy.
As a humanities teacher, your idea about teaching history through peacemakers caught my attention. How could we change society if we focused on this instead of war? For awhile I’ve been toying around […]

Your examples you Trump and Ramsey are excellent! These guys fit the model of workplace bully, and point out how society celebrates it.
As a Canadian, I was a little taken aback by the Conservatives preemptive […]

Great points Beth! Why not use real life case studies about bullying in the adult world? For MSHS students this would be an excellent way to critically analyze the prevailing social paradigms.

Absolutely. We still need to dialogue and teach about it but I just think us adults need to be cognizant about the mixed messages we are sending.

Kids aren’t stupid. We’re teachers. We know this. Part of not being stupid is seeing hypocrisy in action. Society is preaching a solid NO to all forms of bullying but the kids aren’t bullying any […] -
