Andrew Dragonetti wrote a new post, The Revolution of Revolutionary Biographies, on the site Andrew's Blog 1 year, 1 month ago
Realized that I never posted a link to our Middle School U.S. Revolutionary Biography lesson. The format is not UbD, but it is similar and it is the format we use at our school. The steps we have taken have been […]

Andrew Dragonetti wrote a new post, Life Preserver III, on the site Andrew's Blog 1 year, 2 months ago
Unfortunately this year spring break came a week earlier than most schools that tend to coincide their breaks with the EARCOS conference. The Friday before break was also another lost day with most of LA/SS class […] -

With Mary Dodson Wade’s visit over and the foundation set, Diana went to work presenting the biography project to her middle school LA/SS class. My plan would be to come in as much as I […]

Andrew Dragonetti wrote a new post, A Life Preserver Please!, on the site Andrew's Blog 1 year, 2 months ago
Here I am in the midst of a school year like never before and less than a month to go before having to present to my cohorts in Bangkok. Everything seems to hit at once this year and this spring was downright […] -
Andrew Dragonetti commented on the post, Pinterest in Education, on the site Exploring Digital Media in Education 1 year, 2 months ago
Absolutely Ben! I actually think that’s why Twitter and I never quite stuck after our initial dates. I’ve since become an Instagram junkie! As an art teacher I am all about the visual learning. Cheers!

Lots of good stuff Ben! I am really impressed that you boldly took this on with Kindergartners and were, what sounds to be, very successful! It was nice to see that you had previously done a lesson incorporating […]

Hey there Ben!
I have to say that I had looked at Pinterest before and kind of shrugged it off as one of many sites with the same idea. After reading through your post though I decided to go back and give it […]

Some nice links for collaboration Jack. I especially like the “Student Voices” page. Visual literacy seems to really be effective in communicating a message and when it’s coming from another young person it […]

Hey Josee! If it makes you feel any better I am completely in knots thinking about this presentation and Diana has just stressed me out even more by telling me that Jeff has invited other CoETaIL’ers to our […]

Very cool and inspiring Brent! I’m in the same boat as you here at International Schools Riau (formerly Caltex American School). That 5-8 combo of 10 kids can actually be more difficult to juggle than a class of […]

Andrew Dragonetti commented on the post, Betty Boop will be playing the part of Richard Nixon, on the site Garry Leroy Baker 1 year, 2 months ago
Fun stuff Garry! What I really love about the idea behind Mashup Mingus (besides Mingus himself) is that it allows for both teacher and student a way to present a topic, no matter how “drab” it may be (thinking […]

Andrew Dragonetti commented on the post, Pass the Mic: Personal Naratives, on the site Andrew's Blog 1 year, 2 months ago
Hi Mary!
Sounds like a good idea!
I highly recommend Voicethread. We initially used Vuvox and it was a little too touchy for our likings. Perhaps I’ll go back to it another time.
We found it very helpful […]

That would be great! I would love to hear about some of his successes. I have struggled finding examples of how a flipped classroom can be used in the art room.

I can’t believe how much I learn from my students. It would be silly to not utilize their “natural” tech knowledge in the classroom!

Sounds like a good idea to having a classroom contract, at least until your school decides to revisit and revise its current AUP to better suit your schools changes.
It is hard to loosen up and there’s always a […]

After much consultation with my peers, viewing the provided video clips and CoETaIL readings I have to honestly say I have come to the conclusion that students will be students and classroom management will be […] -
Andrew Dragonetti commented on the post, Connectivity – is it optional?, on the site A Person is People 1 year, 2 months ago
Great Blog!
I think you most definitely hit the nail on the head! Connectivity is all to often an option and really can no longer afford to be. It isn’t a quick switch though and that is unfortunate as […] -

Hey there!
I was instantly attracted to your blog when I saw that you were working in Myanmar. My wife and I taught there four years ago and absolutely loved the country and especially the people. I can very […]

Andrew Dragonetti commented on the post, Managing Laptops, on the site Riding on Geoff's Coetail 1 year, 3 months ago
Jennifer, I think it comes down to, not only as Geoff mentioned, accountability, but also that we as teachers are engaging our students completely. The daydreaming begins when students lose interest in the lesson.

Hate to sound redundant Geoff, but I couldn’t agree more. Kids are kids. We manage the room the same way as we ever have. Kids have always looked for ways to get around the rules and continue to do so today. The […]
