It has been great to have you in building so I can run and ask you questions when I get stuck. I am also grateful for our tech team. Poor Paul, he will be glad when I am done with these courses! The courses have made me realize the multi-level steps I will have to prepare students for before giving them a big project. It has also made me realize that there is so much more out there to learn. I am curious about the Google course you took on research. Next!!!

Love that layers of skills and you see why we don't let people just come in at any point. COETAIL is built on these layers and I'm excited that you can see how everything you have done in this program has helped you to get to a point where you can feel like you can do this! We didn't give you everything, but gave you enough to start playing with and see the possibilities. From there it's up to you.

Great photo website...nice job club!

Hi Julie,
I agree with you that we have to be careful 'policing' technology. I teach elementary so it's a little different for me and I have very few problems, but if we motivate students then I think most students will make good choices. It takes a change of thinking for some people, but if we emphasize the ideas of respect, responsibility and safety then most students will make the right decisions. The way you're interacting with students helps to manage technology in a much more natural way, and personally, that's the way I think we should manage technology.

I do use the same method in my class room and students love it.I usually show them video which has direct link with the lesson and then students write note on their own .And also they do work sheet after watching the video.I saw their work after the lesson and most of them did impressive work.Lecturing might be boring since they are grade 3 students I am sure they do not have patience to listen to every single thing .However when I give the lesson through video they follow up the lesson with interest plus with out any interruption. Moreover the lesson was concerning digital privacy ,digital foot print and copy right, for me these lessons are pretty crucial to our students since we are talking about digital world. Our kids suppose to know how to respect others, protect themselves and express them selves as well.

My opinion, for what it’s worth, is that using Museum box would sit comfortably at the modification level. My reasoning? It can’t be substitution, because the items that go into the shadowbox are not physical items, but rather information and ideas garnered from digital sources. I also do not believe that it is augmentation, because even though it is basically taking the idea of a shadowbox and makes it multimedia, it brings more to the table than this with its addition of the viewing audience from other schools. I don’t believe it could be at the top level of redefinition however, because the concept is not a radically new one made possible only with Web 2.0.
I’ve never heard of it, but it sounds interesting. I’ll take a look!

Thanks for all of your thoughts, Jeff. I really like the possibility of using a stop-motion video feature through the doc camera.
