Go Green Riders Go!

Banner by Green Riders

Recently, I presented the idea of sponsoring the Green Riders to our student council. Our students understand that education is one of the most powerful ways to reduce negative impact on the environment. The motion passed with full support. Go Green Riders go! I just wish I could go with them!

Click the blog Green Riders: Southeast Asia to learn more about their mission and follow them on their seven week bike journey. The guys will be riding bamboo bikes built by environmentally friendly Bamboobee bicycles. Here’s the announcement.

My hope is that Kenny and Jamie can gather data and/stories about how deforestation is impacting the island of Kalimantan. The forests here are taking a huge hit from the logging industry and palm oil companies. At school, we do not have a formal environmental education program per se; however, over the years I have worked to instill an ‘environmental compass’ within the school community.

If you would like to follow the dynamic duo and share their mission with your friends, click here.

You sure you’re not going to be able to join us for a leg? Thanks for all the support!

  3. Perhaps at some point I could get you guys to float a raft over to the big island and we could do some riding in Dayak country. Keep the wheels spinning…

  4. Quite a long distance to cover by bike. All the best.
